I am actually just hearing about the controversy surrounding the comments made on big brother about Autism and Special need children.

Adam Jasinski shared his dream to "open a hair salon for kids with special needs, so the retards can get it together and get their hair done."

First with this statement , What an insult to all parents of Autistic children (including myself) I would not ever take my child to a place owned by a man who is so obviously uneducated on the issue of Autism , how any company could have allowed him to work for them shows the character of the company and its higher-ups and should be looked at very carefully , These companies work very closely with our children sometime for hours everyday , the people who are employed by such companies are ment to teach our children everyday skills , and how to blend in to society how to make the most of their disabilites but here is a man who was an employee and says one of the harshest things. First off not all children with Autism suffer from retardation (which by the way should never be used as an insult or in a name calling game , it is a very real disability) and not all children who suffer from Retardation suffer from Autism.

If i had my way Adam would be removed from the show on the sheer fact that he is on a very popular TV show , where he reaches millions with his words and what he does , and yes those millions also include Autistic Children and their parents , how hurtful to them to hear that still in society they are looked down upon and basicly nothing to anyone. The rest of those millions are full of children and adults alike who may know nothing about Autism and what it means , or how it effects children and those who raise them , it is a horrible example to teach others it is even more horrible to allow cruel things said and to allow him to continue in his fame , Is this real the message we want to send to the people of the world that we can put others down and treat them differently because they wont understand ? , because they are different then you or I? Adam could have very well used his experience to teach the world , to educate and to show or tell others what these amazing children are really like and to tell the world that Autistic Children have a world of information to teach us if we listen and we learn from them. Instead Adam chose to teach ignorance and stupidity.

In his defense, Adam touts his work with the United Autism Foundation (a nonprofit of apparently questionable stature). "Disabled kids... I can call them whatever I want, OK?" he retorted to Sheila. "I bust my ass to help these special-needs children!"

As far as this go , The nerve he has to claim that because he works with these kids he has some right to call them whatever he wants makes me sick , Those who work with autistic kids have no right , you work with them some times an hour a day sometimes 6 hours a day , but you go home you leave that word behind you when you go home , while us parents are there 24-7 we see the struggles the furstrations , the hearthache and then in the few moments when all seems well , we see the smiles the knowledge and the pure amazement that is our child , No one should ever dare assume that by your few hours of work that you are somehow the all knowing , the all high and mighty one who has ever so graciously donated your time , and there for can speak to or about our children in anyway to see fit. You are paid for what you do , try being the parent or care giver and its a whole new world. I pray that adam himself is never blessed with a child who has a special need because it would be a huge mistake i think
